Facebook had an estimated 144.27 million views in 2016, approximately 12.9 million per month.[109] Despite this high volume of traffic, very little has been done to protect the millions of users who log on to Facebook and other social media platforms each month. President Barack Obama tried to work with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to attempt to regulate data mining. He proposed the Privacy Bill of Rights, which would protect the average user from having their private information downloaded and shared with third party companies. The proposed laws would give the consumer more control over what information companies can collect.[107] President Obama was unable to pass most of these laws through congress, and it is unsure what President Trump will do with regards to social media marketing ethics.
The options screen gives you the ability to create a new account for this lead or to map the lead to an existing account. Creating a need and a demand where none already exists, or convincing customers to do something they don’t know they want to do takes time, money, and more money. Discovering a need and filling it is far cheaper and easier than betting your destiny on a conjecture. Good third party market research not only brings objectivity, but can often persuade prospects and customers to reveal all sorts of issues that they will not tell a company person. It frequently also reveals that the message you think you are communicating is not the message being received by the prospect and can clearly indicate compelling ways to differentiate your business from your competition, which can significantly increase your conversion rate.

Facebook can link back to the product's Twitter page, as well as send out event reminders. As of May 2015, 93% of businesses marketers use Facebook to promote their brand.[36] A study from 2011 attributed 84% of "engagement" or clicks and likes that link back to Facebook advertising.[37] By 2014, Facebook had restricted the content published from business and brand pages. Adjustments in Facebook algorithms have reduced the audience for non-paying business pages (that have at least 500,000 "Likes") from 16% in 2012 down to 2% in February 2014.[38][39][40]
Ahead of the 2019 general elections in India, Facebook has removed 103 pages, groups and accounts on Facebook and Instagram platforms originating from Pakistan. Facebook said its investigation found a Pakistani military link, along with a mix of real accounts of ISPR employees, and a network of fake accounts created by them that have been operating military fan pages, general interest pages but were posting content about Indian politics while trying to conceal their identity.[538] Owing to the same reasons, Facebook also removed 687 pages and accounts of Congress because of coordinated inauthentic behavior on the platform.[539]

Find information on things like age, gender, education, relationship status, location, language, Facebook usage, and even past purchase activity. How do you do that? You need to create interest by offering a relevant mix of informative and entertaining content that builds a meaningful relationship with your audience. And you have to make sure that you are distributing your content through all the right channels – where your buyer spends time. An example of a social media mishap includes designer Kenneth Cole's Twitter mishap in 2011. When Kenneth Cole tweeted, "Millions are in uproar in #Cairo. Rumor has they heard our new spring collection is now available online at [Kenneth Cole's website]".[94] This reference to the 2011 Egyptian revolution drew an objection from the public; it was widely objected to on the Internet.[94] Kenneth Cole realized his mistake shortly after and responded with a statement apologizing for the tweet.[95]

The next calculation I’m looking to find out is my actual sale conversion rate, would I calculate my actual total number of opted-in leads that converted say it was 1,003 (opted-in leads) actually purchased my offer and divide it by the total 3,870 total visitors. If not, would it be by the total opted in amount, which in this case would be 2,010, to work out my sales conversion rate?
