I did want to mention a recent test that I did where in addition to the call to action below, I placed a link in the text area above the image. The result out of 5000 clicks? Only 5% of the clicks came from the link up top. 95% of the clicks came from the call to action below. I believe that people are becoming conditioned to engage that section of an ad.
This is a very good question. From my experience, it doesn’t matter what industry you are in, or how much marketing budget you have. I would always suggest that if it’s the first time running the ad – Budget $5-10 a day(estimated average daily reach of 540-2,700 people) and run the ad for 7 days. This will give you feedback on how the ad is converting, and how it’s resonating with your audience.
If your business has an offer or event going on at your store, set up a few Facebook Reach ads that appear only to people within a short distance of your store. Have these ads appear a few days prior to the event and on mobile devices while the event is happening. You may want to reach some people the day of the event who happen to be in the area and checking their Facebook account on their smartphones.
Text on the image: If you’re careful not to cross Facebook’s rule against text-heavy ad images, this can work to your advantage.
