This photo ad by the The New York Times is driving traffic to a written article with an intriguing illustration. The drawing literally depicts the article's ideal audience -- millennials. For young readers who are even a little interested in health and fitness, this cartoon (along with the enticing headline) pokes just enough fun at them to get their attention.
While these factors may indeed have contributed to “Facebook Zero,” some of the digital marketing industry’s most prominent thought leaders weren’t convinced. Jay Baer of Convince & Convert plotted the data from the Ogilvy study against changes in Facebook’s stock value, and the results certainly suggest that the decline in organic reach had a hugely positive financial impact for Facebook, whether intentional or otherwise:
Awareness is good, but sales are better, and engagement is what connects awareness to sales. When your update is ready to go (after a proofread, of course), hit “Share Now”. From this field, you can also add a photo or video, tag a product or location, run a poll, or schedule or backdate your post if you so choose.

Instead, create posts that help people get to know the people behind the scenes at your company. Show what makes your company “real” and relatable (reviews are another great way to build trust with prospective customers). That way, if people check out your Facebook Page, they’ll feel a connection to you, your product or service and your company vision and be more likely to buy.


In a closed group, posts are only visible to members, so there’s a sense of being involved in an exclusive community. The group itself appears in Facebook searches, and the description and member list are visible to anyone on Facebook. It doesn’t offer complete privacy, but members can feel comfortable knowing that the posts they share are visible only to members of the group. When HubSpot looked into how often you should post on Facebook, quality far outweighed quantity. Pages with over 10,000 followers were the only ones who benefited from posting more frequently.
