While Instant Articles are definitely not for every business, they have helped some larger publishers monetize from native advertising. Because users are 20% more likely to click on Instant Articles and 70% less likely to abandon then due to poor user experience, publishers have a greater opportunity to earn revenues from native ads. However, the format has received backlash because the publishers don’t own the analytics.
While these factors may indeed have contributed to “Facebook Zero,” some of the digital marketing industry’s most prominent thought leaders weren’t convinced. Jay Baer of Convince & Convert plotted the data from the Ogilvy study against changes in Facebook’s stock value, and the results certainly suggest that the decline in organic reach had a hugely positive financial impact for Facebook, whether intentional or otherwise:
Real estate agents know their neighborhood and the realty market better than anyone else. Showcase your knowledge with a catchy infographic, then share it in your feed to get people to stop scrolling. You can also use the graphic to tease a free report with more information. Just include a link in a comment on the post so people can easily sign up to get the report.
Facebook retargeting can be used in a number of ways and is based on your advertising goals, or objectives. There are four main goals in retargeting ads: build awareness, reminder advertising, close a sale, and invite repeat business. When retargeting is used in conjunction with your advertising goals, ads become very effective and drive your return on investment up.

Facebook retargeting lets advertisers discover and reach warm leads. Using the Facebook Pixel, advertisers track their site visitors and their actions to build audiences and better understand visitors. Campaigns are then designed to speak to the audience and display ads on those visitor’s Facebook pages, proving highly effective in that statistically warm leads convert best.

"Status update" is what Facebook calls a message that you post via the publishing box that says "What's on your mind?" The publishing box (shown in the image above) appears at the top of both your homepage and Timeline page. People use status updates to communicate their activities, post links to news stories, share photos and videos, and comment on life in general.
If you’re looking to tell a story on Facebook, video is likely your best option. Recently, video has gained a lot of buzz, especially considering the Facebook algorithm now prioritizes both live video and longer videos with high completion rates in users’ News Feeds. In fact, a Facebook exec predicted the social media platform will be all video by 2021.
In addition to simply providing a positive environment, the Facebook advertising platform makes sure that your ads further contribute to that positive environment. In fact, it has certain requirements for its ads, so that they do not disrupt the flow of the user’s experience. One of the best reasons to advertise on Facebook is that you are reaching people who are happy, receptive and engaged, so in terms of their experience interacting with you, you’re already at an advantage.
Although ads in the News Feed are likely to get higher engagement metrics due to its native advertising features, right column ads shouldn't be forgotten. We often see less expensive clicks and conversions when using these ads. In order for a right column ad to be successful, it needs to be relevant, have a value proposition, a good visual, and have a call-to-action.
The goal of the group is to allow reporters to connect with the newspaper’s most dedicated readers, sharing information about how they do their work, where story ideas come from, and how the job of political reporting gets done. While the group has fewer than 4,000 members (compared to the more than six million followers of The Washington Post’s Facebook Page), it is very active, with multiple posts per day. how to recover facebook account with trusted contacts
But with such a massive and diverse collection of users, Facebook offers a unique opportunity for marketers to drive awareness for their brands — an opportunity that could also drive more leads for your business than any other paid channel. Below, we’ll walk through the steps to get started with Facebook advertising, making sure you’re producing the right ad at the right time. Part 2 - Why UTM Tracking and Best Practices
Note: Power Editor, if you haven't used it, is where serious advertising happens. Using the 'Boost Post' feature within your Facebook Page only enables you to increase reach among the people who 'Like' your page. Power Editor lets you do much more, including creating custom audiences, advertising on Instagram, and testing different versions of the same ad.

The first step to giving your Facebook Page an identity is adding a profile picture. This will serve as the primary visual for your Page, appearing in search results and alongside any of your content that shows up in a user’s News Feed. Most publishers suggest creating a photo that’s 180 x 180 pixels, however increasing this slightly will help maintain quality. If you don’t upload an image that is already square, you’ll be prompted to crop.
The competitive value of a Facebook ad is the sum of an advertiser’s maximum bid – how much an advertiser is willing to pay every time a user takes the desired action – and the ad’s intrinsic quality bid, or how much engagement an ad brings to Facebook and the user experience. Although the precise methodology behind how Facebook calculates intrinsic quality bid is a closely guarded secret, Facebook does concede that factors such as the volume of clicks, likes, and shares is included in this calculation, as is general feedback on an ad. Timing can also be seasonal. Retailers that do most of their business during the Q4 gifting season can create a custom audience targeting those who don’t buy from them year-round. Susan uses the example of women visiting a men’s retailer site based on clicks from a holiday gift guide. Knowing that traffic from this particular piece of content is likely driven by people who aren’t shopping for themselves, you can retarget this audience during other gift-giving times of the year such as Father’s Day.
When you create your first advertisement, Facebook offers two choices of editors: the Ad Manager and the Power Editor. The Ad Manager is a great choice for most companies, while the Power Editor was created for larger advertisers who need precise control over a variety of campaigns. For these instructions, we’ll use the Ad Manager. To find the Ads Manager from Facebook, go to your homepage and find "Ads Manager" from the left-hand menu.

On that note, make sure the content you post to Facebook is highly shareable. It’s the best way to expand your organic reach. According to a study by the New York Times Customer Insight and Advertising Groups, “marketers should be focused on providing content that enhances consumers’ relationships with one another.” In other words, create valuable and entertaining content that followers will be happy to share with their connections.

Here, you’ll be able to glean a number of insights about your business and its audience, including active users, purchases, sales funnels, and more. Reports are the bread-and-butter of any analytics software – so it’s no surprise that Facebook has extensive reporting capabilities. From the dashboard, you can generate a report containing information about nearly any activity or event. It also allows you to create cross-channel funnels to figure out the best conversion rates. Finally, you can use event source groups to determine the specific paths customers take when interacting with your channels.
For example, an auto dealership gets a large number of visitors who search for specific makes and models, but they do not click the call to action “schedule a test drive.” The dealership uses this information to create ads that provide additional sales information on the cars the visitors were looking at, which further helps develop the user’s interest in the vehicle, leading them closer to converting users to take action, such as schedule a test drive or value trade-in.
Well, I just about lost creditbility on Facebook Ads. I have tried for over a month and have spent close to $1,000 in ads with absolutely NO sales. Now, I realize Facebook does not guartee sales but goodness, you’d think at least one person would have bought something. I have tried changing the ads, the products, the text, the audience and nothing changes. Yes, lots of clicks but some appear to be robots if you ask me. I mean what real person goes to a site for 10 seconds and leaves without looking at anything (seen on my analytics). I can understand this happening for a handful of clicks that the person may have accidentally clicked but really 30-40 people? Not likely. I am just baffled about so many people claiming that their conversions being so high on Facebook. I am beginning to think those people are merely advertising for Facebook and getting paid for it. Sorry, highly skeptical about what this article says.
Everyone has a favorite TV show or sporting event, so leverage their interest by creating watch parties for trending or popular programs. Create a watch party on Facebook by clicking the “Watch Party” button and filling in a title for your party, like “GoTo final season” or “National Championship Game.” Add text to your post that encourages people to watch together and share comments during the show.
Facebook advertising allows you to drive even more people to your website, through clicks to website ads. These ads either direct people to your Facebook page which can lead them to your website, or lead them directly there. Clicks to website ads are meant to get people to a specific page on your website, such as a product page, landing page, blog post page, etc. You can get existing customers to learn about a new product, get new customers to better understand an existing product, showcase your expertise on a topic to build trust, and more.
How do social media managers keep up with all of those posts they need to publish? By using a social media content calendar. Just as it sounds, a social media content calendar is a spreadsheet where you write out posts in advance and slot them for specific times. Aside from keeping you sane, a content calendar will help you keep tracking links organized and make it easier to evaluate the overall mix of format and topic you’re posting. Next, you create the ads you want to run. Facebook ads are highly visual and align with the ways in which people use Facebook, particularly on mobile devices – definitely no tiny, text-based ads here. Finally, you use data and analytics to evaluate the performance of your ads, allowing you to make changes to improve everything from impression share to click-through rate, just as you would in a paid search campaign.
It's visual. The picture alone is worth a thousand words about how much fun this concert would be. Not only is it on the beach, it was also taken on a gorgeous day and the stage looks amazing. Also, it clearly represents what to expect during the event, and it catches the eye as someone scrolls through their News Feed. (The beautiful ocean water definitely helps.)
